  CONSERVATION: LET'S GET STARTED

these plants are at home in the desert, totem pole cactus, agaves, bougainvillea, mexican evening primroseIf you're new to the concept of water conservation, we'd like to say "Welcome." We understand that there is a lot of information available and it can be difficult to determine what info works in our area. We live in a unique place:
  • We get little annual participation (as little as 4" yearly),
  • plants grow here that don't grow anywhere else in the world, although we can grow plants from other arid regions here.
  • we have beautiful, mild weather 8 months of the year,
  • outdoors, it's above 100 degrees 4 months of the year,
  • we are in an amazing corridor for beautiful wildlife like hummingbirds, butterflies, birds, bunnies, javelina, to name a few,
  • and we have a good supply of water, not an infinite supply of water.
Don't be scared! We can start with the basics and work our way up.
