how to save water

WHERE DOES THE WATER GO? THERE IS A SURPRISING ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION.

The answer is OUTDOORS.

As much as 60% of total water use is outdoors. In the Phoenix area it's water used on landscapes, swimming pools, washing off your sidewalks or car. That doesn't mean you can ignore saving water indoors, just focus on the changes you can make outdoors:
  • Converting a lawn to a xeriscape can save an estimated average of 21,897 gallons or 11.6% of your overall water bill.*

  • Have your home audited for water savings. Normally, the word audit causes people to take up old, bad habits. The audit we are talking about is a home audit and it can save participants an estimated average of 8,690 gallons or 5.0% off your water bill. Contact your city water department to set up a home audit.

  • Pools and spas are responsible for roughly 16% of water use outside the home.

  • A boatload of information is in our very own library. From plant selection to maintenance, you will find it here.
