Make a Site Drawing

When designing your landscape, consider your personal preferences and goals. The following steps will guide you through the initial process: 

• Measure your lot, then create a diagram of your yard that includes the house and any existing features, such as a walkway, patio, or pool.  
• Make the drawing to scale using grid paper or an enlarged version of your builder's plot plan. You can create one for the front yard and another for the back yard.
• Make several copies for different stages of the design process and keep at least one clean version for future reference.
